Islamic militants fired mortars into Mogadishu’s police compound as the force was celebrating its 66th anniversary Sunday, sparking a battle that killed at least 12 civilians and a police officer, officials said.
One police officer was killed and three others were wounded in the fighting, which began after the mortar landed near the compound during the ceremony, police official Aden Ahmed said.

Leader of zaidite rebels in North Yemen has been seriously wounded in a raid of Yemen airstrike. Trespassing of iranian soldiers in Iraq. Troops of Teheren - according referred by a ufficial iraq source - have been entered in iraqi territory, stayin some hours in oil field of Fakka, along of border between two countries. According local tv, soldiers have hoisted a flag of Islamic Republic. After some hours later soldiers have withdrawn, reentering in iranian territory.

Chadian government forces were forced to launch both air and ground assaults in defense to the appalling offense by the Rebels from the Union of Resistance Forces (URF). This is the major confrontation between the rebels and government forces since May.
According to the statement issued by the government late Tuesday, the rebels destroyed a Chadian army tank, an oil-tanker and a vehicle belonging to the Chadian government forces.
The statement confirmed the clashes, further indicating that the Chadian army was trying to redeploy its forces when it was attacked by rebels.
