Security sources told Almotamar.net on Monday that units of the Central Security and others from the armed forces have on Monday started a large-scale operation for clearing the city of Saada from the terrorist elements that have been taking mosques and citizens’ houses their strongholds.
The sources added that the operation was done in residential areas of Al-Rout, Al-Shaab, Al-Jarba and Bab Najran after evacuation of citizens from their houses through call with loudspeakers.
The sources added that the operation, up to now, resulted in killing a number of terrorists and the surrender of 25 of their elements to armed forces.

Seven soldiers were killed on Monday in the Reşadiye district of the central province of Tokat after Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists opened fire on soldiers patrolling a rural area in the district.
At least three soldiers were wounded in the attack. One of the wounded was in critical condition and was taken to a hospital in Tokat, while two were hospitalized at Reşadiye State Hospital. Clashes between security forces and soldiers were reportedly ongoing by the time Today’s Zaman went to print. Reşadiye Mayor Rafet Erden told Turkish broadcasters that more security forces were sent to the area where the clash occurred.

Bangladeshi security forces have placed a leader of a separatist group from India’s north-east under house arrest, officials of both countries said.
The chairman of the United Liberation Front of Assam (Ulfa), Arabinda Rajkhowa, and his family have been living in the capital, Dhaka.
There are unconfirmed reports that Bangladeshi forces have held two more Indian rebel leaders.
The Ulfa rebels have fought for a separate Assamese homeland since 1979.

Two Rwandan peacekeepers from the joint African Union-United Nations mission in Darfur (UNAMID) were killed and others wounded today in an attack by unidentified gunmen while collecting water at the north of the strife-torn Sudanese region.
The dead and wounded were evacuated to El Fasher.
The attack, which occurred in Saraf Umra in North Darfur, brought to 17 the number of UNAMID armed personnel killed in a hostile confrontation since the mission deployed at the start of 2008.

Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, the Islamist leader of rebel group Hizbul Islam, has Saturday called fresh fighting against the African Union troops (AMISOM) in Somali capital Mogadishu.
Sheik Aweys said to the Islamist fighters that war against foreigners would be inevitable pointing out that AMISOM troops were part of the continuing problems in Somalia.
