Sudanese army denied rumors of imminent attack on the capital of North Darfur by the rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) saying no any city is besieged in Darfur.
Despite the signing of a framework agreement and a truce in Doha on 23 February the Sudanese army and JEM rebels accused each other of attacks. Last week, the rebel group suspended its participation in the peace process to protest continual air and ground attacks on its positions.
