Suspected fighters have launched a rocket and ground attack on Nato’s main military base in southern Afghanistan, days after a similar assault on the coalition’s military base in Bagram.
Nato officials said the fighters fired a number of rockets and mortars at the Kandahar Air Field on Saturday, wounding an unspecified number of Nato troops.
“Kandahar Air Field came under indirect fire at approximately 8:00 tonight and shortly afterward a ground attack was under way as well,” a Nato spokesman said.

At least thirteen people were killed and over thirty wounded when Ethiopian troops based in the town of Buhodle clashed with armed tribal militia.
Reports reaching us from the disputed down suggested that at least ten Somalis were killed and three Ethiopian soldiers when violence broke out at 12:00 afternoon in the town. According to the head of Buhodle hospital, Mr Ali Ukun at least 33 were wounded in the fight consisting of minor and serious injuries.

North Korea has warned South Korea that it will not hesitate to launch an “all out war” if the latter decides to take “firm” measures” against it.
Pyongyang’s aggressive broadside has prompted China to intervene and call for calm, the China Daily reports.
The broadside follows Seoul’s accusation that North Korea blew up and sank naval ship, “Cheonan” on March 26 this year.
Pyongyang has denied involvement and called the investigation results a fabrication.

Republic of Somalia has recognized today, on May 19, officially the Republic of Kosovo as and independent and sovereign state said in a statement the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kosovo.
In a diplomatic note addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia confirms the decision of the Government of the Republic of Somalia to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.

Thailand uprising ends on blood. After six weeks of tensions and violences, army has given assoult to the camp of red shirts in Ratchaprasong Intersection, in commercial district of Bangkok.
