Troops from Somaliland and Ethiopia entered the border town of Buhodle on Saturday in a bid to beef up security in both nations as elections approach.
According to the local paper, Waaheen, Somaliland Defense Minister, Mr. Suleyman Warsame Guled told local press that troops from both countries have been deployed in a number of border towns including the town of Buhodle. The minister said the two troops would work together to maintain security in the region.
Ethiopia, who is also concern about the spread of al-Shabaab and other radical groups in Somalia has since created a number of security cordons around the town. The troops are also inspecting trucks in and out of the town, while troops from Somaliland are escorting election team to the city.

Twp italian soldiers of Isaf contingent engaged in Afghanistan were killed and others two were wounded in explosion of a bomb. They were in a armored Lince in a column directed in Bala Murghab.

At least 5 people have been killed and more than 25 other have been wounded in after heavy clashes between the transitional government troops and Islamist forces in more different areas in Mogadishu, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Wednesday.
Reports say that the fighting broke out at Taleh neighborhood in Hodan district first and spread further to the war zones in the capital as both government forces backing by AMISOM and the Islamist fighters killing 5, injuring 25 others.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti in Paris has informed the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Paris, through a diplomatic note, that the Government of Djibouti has recognized Kosovo as an independent state.
In the letter signed by the Foreign Minister of Djibouti, Mahmud All Youssouf, it states, amongst other comments, that, “The Government of the Republic of Djibouti has decided to recognize Kosovo’s independence”.

Sudanese forces say they have seized control of a key rebel held area in the western Darfur region after killing more than 150 members of the Justice and Equality Movement (Jem).
“We have liberated Jebel Moon from the Justice and Equality Movement,” Al-Sawarmi Khaled, an army spokesman, said on Saturday.
“We have detained 61 rebels and confiscated 16 cars and three large trucks.”
The army gave no details of army casualties in the clashes.
