At least four paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and 15 injured, four of them critically, in a powerful landmine explosion Friday in Holmari in Assam’s Goalpara district.
Militants, suspected to be from the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), triggered a landmine blast around 8 a.m. when around 20 CRPF troopers were returning in a bus from an anti-insurgency training camp.

Yemeni rebels freed on Wednesday 200 soldiers they had captured two days earlier and promised to release other prisoners, both civilian and military, a mediator said.
“The Houthi rebels freed soldiers captured” during fighting in the al-Amishiya region of the northern province of Amran, said the mediator.
AFP confirmed this from tribal sources close to the rebels.
On Tuesday, a military official said the Houthis had captured 200 soldiers,” which he said belong to the 72nd Regiment of the army’s Republican Guards.”

Two italian soldiers have killed in Afghanistan, at eight kilometers at south of Herat, caused by an explosion of a rudimentary bomb. Also slightly wounded a girl soldier, captain Federica Luciani.
Victims are prime sergeant Mauro Gigli and corporal chief Pierdavide De Cillis. They belonged at XXXII Reggimento Genio.
In explosion have killed also two soldiers of Ana, Afghan National Army - afghan army - and others two have been seriously wounded.

A new armed group is threatening to launch a violent campaign for the reunification of Somalia. The group is known as SSC, the initials of the regions they say that they want to liberate - Sool, Sanaag and Cayn. These regions are currently disputed over by both the breakaway Somaliland Republic and the Semi-autonomous region of Puntland in North East Somalia. “Our ultimate goal is to make this area peaceful and prosperous and also seek a united Somalia”.

Venezuela has beefed up its troop presence along the border with Colombia amid heightened tension between the two South American nations.
Caracas has sent about one thousand troops to the border, citing the threat of an armed conflict with Bogota.
“We have a reinforcement of 980 to 1,000 troops for the protection of the border, but there are no unusual operations; we are staying on alert,” Reuters quoted Franklin Marquez, a regional commander for the Venezuelan National Guard, as saying on Monday.
