Nearly 80,000 people have fled the southern Yemen city of Loder where clashes between al-Qaeda-linked fighters and government forces has killed dozens of people.
Suspected al-Qaeda fighters have also fled the embattled city, following an assault by government forces in which dozens have died, the interior ministry said on Tuesday.
Civilians began leaving the town in the restive Abyan province on Friday amid an army bombing campaign against suspected al-Qaeda targets.
