Rebels marked their four month of fighting against the Gaddafi regime on Friday and were seen firing rocket propelled grenades, machine guns and rocket launchers to combat artillery fire from forces loyal to the Libyan leader.
Barrages of artillery and missiles were reportedly hitting rebel lines as they continued trying to advance out of the besieged western city of Misurata and push towards the capital Tripoli.

According to news agency Xinhua, a huge blast was heard in Yemen’s main port city, the business capital of the country, Aden, Thursday night followed by heavy gunshots between the Saleh’s forces and Mujahideen of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
The firefight and blast rocked Aden after Mujahideen hurled two grenades at the judicial complex in al-Mualla district (see map), local resident told Xinhua.

Forty eight hours after giving conditions for ceasefire, Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, yesterday bombed the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters of the police in Abuja. The attack claimed two lives with about 35 vehicles destroyed in the incident that occurred at 10.58 am. The Police High command confirmed the casualty figure. The victims, according to reports, the suicide bomber and the traffic warden who directed him to use the car park in the vicinity.

Five militants, including a militant leader, were eliminated in two separate shootouts in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, the Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) said on Wednesday.
The NAC said four militants fired at local law enforcement officers from a car at about 01:00 a.m. Moscow time on Wednesday near the village of Achisu after a squad of policemen asked them to stop.
“Policemen returned fire to the militants and all the gunmen were eliminated,” the NAC said.

As Washington urged African countries to reject the government of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, rebels reported progress Monday against government forces in western mountain cities.
After a siege of nearly two months, rebels have freed the city of Al-Rayyana, northeast of Zintan, said Talha Al-Jiwali, a rebel fighter. Nine rebels were killed, and 35 were wounded, he said.
