A group linked to al-Qaeda on Tuesday claimed responsibility for an overnight rocket attack from southern Lebanon against Israel, a local website announced.
Elnashra website said it had received an email from the Brigades of Abdullah Azzam claiming responsibility for the attack.
“Early this Tuesday, rockets from the Brigades of Abdullah Azzam shelled the Zionist colonies in northern Palestine… and reached their aim,” the email message reads.

One rocket was fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel overnight, prompting the Jewish state’s army to warn Beirut early Tuesday to work to prevent similar attacks in the future.
The Lebanese army released a statement saying that one rocket was fired from southern Lebanon from the area between the town of Haneen and Rmaish into Israel.
The National News Agency reported that Israel retaliated by firing four rockets on Aita al-Shaab.

Iran will target NATO’s missile shield in neighboring Turkey if it is threatened by military action, the commander of the aerospace division of the Revolutionary Guards said.
‘We are prepared to first target the NATO defense missile shield in Turkey if we are threatened. And then we’ll move on to other targets,’ Amir-Ali Hajizadeh was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
Although Iranian officials have said several times they could retaliate with ballistic missiles against so-called “Israel” if attacked, Hajizadeh’s remark was the first time the Revolutionary Guards spoke of targeting Turkey.

Senegal’s army says 10 people have been killed by separatist rebels in the country’s restive south.
Army spokesman Col. Aboubakrine Kebe said Tuesday that the civilians were working in the jungles of the Casamance region when they were attacked by the fighters Monday.
The Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance has waged a low-level insurgency against Senegal’s government since the early 1980s, though attacks have declined in recent years.
Casamance has been plagued by sporadic violence as the rebels have fought for independence and against each other.

The new Libyan government is well on its way to help Syrian fighters against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime with arms after a meeting held in Istanbul between the two sides, a newspaper reported Saturday.
A Libyan source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Britain’s Telegraph, that the aid will extend beyond providing the Syrian fighters with arms but that Libya could also offer potential volunteers to help up rebels in their struggle against Assad’s regime.
“There is something being planned to send weapons and even Libyan fighters to Syria,” said the Libyan source.
