There have been new attacks against Christians in Africa where one person was killed ad ten wounded, four seriously, when a grenade was thrown at a Catholic church in Nairobi.
Police sources have reported that twenty people died in an attack in Nigeria. According to the daily newspaper the Daily Nation, no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack during Mass at the international Church of God’s Miracles in Nairobi’s Ngara district.

Shining Path rebels on Friday killed three members of Peru’s security forces and wounded two others while they were searching for police who disappeared in an earlier ambush, the armed forces said.
It was the latest setback to the government’s push to retake a lawless bundle of jungle valleys in southeastern Peru where a remnant band of Maoist rebels runs cocaine trafficking in the world’s most densely planted region of coca plantations.

Syrian forces clashed with opposition fighters early Saturday in the coastal city of Latakia, anti-government activists said, further crumbling a shaky cease-fire meant to end 13 months of unrest.
The clashes occurred in Burj Islam village, where a presidential palace is located, according to the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Shan State Army (SSA) ‘North’ units operating around its former HQ Hsengkeow in Hsipaw township have been ordered to withdraw by the Burma Army’s Lashio-based Northeastern Region Command on Tuesday, 24 April, according to SSA sources.
The withdrawal order was relayed to the SSA liaison office in Lashio, Shan State North capital, by Chief of Staff Col Win Thein. “He said if we were unable to pull out, the next best alternative would be not to be seen wearing uniforms and carrying arms.”

Heavily armed forces from Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland have on Monday conducted major operations against al-Shabaab fighters in Galgala mountainous hideouts in Barri region.
Cabdullahi Mohammed Donyale, the security advisor of Puntland president Abdirahman Farole told reporters in Garowe town that Puntland has began this operations after al-Shabaab has shifted its guerilla-style warfare in Galgala, a small town that strategically located 40 Km away south of port town of Bosaso.
