Heavy clashes between al-Shabaab islamist integralist militants and government forces have taken places in Gedo region this morning, south of country.
Regional governor, Mohamed Abdikali, has referred to Shabelle local media that at least 26 islamist fighters have been killed.
Clashes started when militants linked to al-Qaeda launched a heavy offensive against regular army military bases in Yurkud.
