Turkey: 1 policeman and 1 soldier killed in two separate attacks by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) rebels
One Turkish soldier and a policeman were killed in two separate attacks by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels on Sunday, Turkish media reported.
In one incident, PKK rebels attacked two military outposts in the Nizamiye district of the eastern Tunceli province. One soldier was killed in the attacks and four others were injured.
In a second attack, a policeman was killed in Van city, southeast of Turkey, by a group of PKK militants, according to reports.
PKK has been fighting the Turkish state for nearly three decades. The fighting has claimed the lives of more than 45,000 people.
