Heavy clashes have erupted in the conflict-ridden Somali regional state on Sunday night between Ethiopian forces and the rebel Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).
Eyewitnesses in Wacays-Godle in Degehbur zone told media in the neighbouring Somalia the Ethiopians imposed a 24-hour curfew in the restive district following renewed clashes.

Security sources and the Islamist militant group Hamas, which governs Gaza, said two air strikes took place early on Monday in the northern town of Beit Hanun.
It is understood militants had been firing mortar shells at an Israeli tank and several military vehicles that had crossed the border.
The first strike critically killed one man and wounded three others, according to a Gaza health ministry spokesman, while the second is believed to have killed one and injured another.

Russian security forces killed 49 militants in a long-term, sweeping operation across Russia’s volatile north Caucasus. Nine of those killed were considered to be “odious” guerilla commanders in the drive to carve out an Islamist state in the region.
The “large-scale and massive” September-October operation in several republics in the region involved forces from both the Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry, Russia’s National Antiterrorism Committee (NAK) said on Sunday.

Five soldiers have been killed by FARC rebels in the south of Colombia, a regional army commander said Saturday.
According to the commander of the 27th Jungle Brigade, the five men were killed and three more were injured by a roadside bomb detonated by guerrillas.

At least 14 soldiers and 12 operatives of al-Qaeda were killed early on Friday when suicide bombers attacked a military base in south Yemen, military sources and local residents said.
The attack started at dawn when five suicide bombers infiltrated the base about five miles east of Shuqrah in the southern province of Abyan, military sources said.
Two suicide bombers blew themselves up and the three others were killed in clashes with the government forces in the 115th Brigade command building.
