A Pakistani official says over 100 militants have attacked a police station in the northwest, killing six policemen. Two of the killed policemen were beheaded.
Police officer Ishrat Yar says the attack near the main northwest city of Peshawar started late on Sunday night and triggered a gunbattle that lasted for several hours. The militants were armed with heavy machine-guns, rocket-propelled grenades, hand grenades and assault rifles.

Somali government forces backed by African Union (AU) peacekeeping forces are spreading their control over territory run by al-Shabaab rebels in the south of the Horn of Africa country.
The allied forces this week consolidated their control over the Wanla Weyn town, 93 km south of the Somali capital Mogadishu, as well as a former Somali air force base, 15 km away from the Wanla Wein.

Air Force launches two strikes in Gaza killing two members of Mujahideen Shura Council who planned to carry out terrorist attack in Sukkot, were involved in previous attacks against Israel.
Two Mujahideen Shura Council operatives who planned to carry out a terrorist attack during Sukkot were killed Saturday in two Air Force strikes in Gaza.
One of the terrorists was involved in the firing of a rocket that hit a backyard in Netivot on Friday and the other helped carry out the border attack that claimed the life of Said Fashapshe last June.

A suicide blast killed at least 15 people in a tribal area in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, authorities said.
The blast injured 22 others in Darra Adam khel, near Peshawar, said Nasir Khan, a local government official.
Initial investigations indicate the bomb was targeting a base for anti-Taliban fighters, according to officials.

Columns of armoured vehicles and military pick-up tracks carrying numerous units of Ethiopian troops are reportedly massed into the Somalia’s border town of Luq located in Gedo province for battle.
Somali national army (SNA) commanders in the area say the Ethiopian troops set up military bases on the suburbs of the town, where they are planning major offensive against the remaining towns and locations controlled by al-Qaeda-linked militants of al-Shabaab.
