Talking to Dawn.com TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the banned organisation was behind the remote controlled bomb attack in Bannu which had targeted a leader associated with the Awami National Party (ANP).
An explosion in the Jani Khel area of Bannu District on Sunday killed two people and injured eight people including the independent leader, associated ANP in the past.

North Korea said Saturday that inter-Korean relations have entered into a state of war and all cross-border issues will be dealt with in a wartime manner, the latest in a near-daily series of strident threats against the South in recent weeks.
“Situations on the Korean Peninsula, which are neither in peace nor at war, have come to an end,” the North said in a special statement issued by the country’s party, ministries and other institutions, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

Syrian rebels have taken control of a strategic town near the border with Jordan, the British Observatory for Human Rights said Friday.
After 24 hours of fighting, during which 16 rebels and several others were killed, opposition forces captured Dael in Daraa province, Voice of America reported.

At least 10 cadres of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), including those occupying senior positions in the Bihar-Jharkhand-North Chhattisgarh Special Area Committee (SAC), were killed in Chatra district in a gunfight with a breakaway group, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), which began on Wednesday evening and continued until the early hours of Thursday.
The police have recovered 10 bodies. According to reports, the gunfight began on Wednesday at 4.30 pm, at Lakramanda village. Police officials said it ended when a joint team of the CRPF and district armed police reached the spot at 3.30 am on Thursday.

Six suspected members of the Mombasa Republican Council were gunned down by police in a Thursday dawn attack following a raid at a Casino in Malindi town.
A police officer deployed to guard the Casino died during the shootout while several other officers were injured.
Malindi deputy divisional police boss Samson Ogero was also seriously injured in the midnight attack when over 100 militia men attacked him.
