Algeria: Algeria boosts forces on Tunisian border after the killing of 8 Tunisian soldiers

Algeria’s army has reinforced its forces along the eastern border with Tunisia, Interior Minister Daho Ould Kablia said on Thursday, days after the killing of eight Tunisian soldiers.

Eight Tunisian soldiers were found with their throats cut on Monday after an ambush by jihadist militants in Mount Chaambi, an area near the border with Algeria.

Philippines: 94 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered, killed and arrested last month

A total of 94 communist rebels surrendered, were killed or arrested last month, the military claimed Thursday.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), however, also suffered with 29 soldiers killed and wounded in the same period.

Sudan: Sudan says Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) rebels kill 9 soldiers in ambush

Sudan’s Foreign Ministry says a rebel ambush on an army convoy has killed nine soldiers.

The convoy was transporting fuel supplies for the U.N. mission in Abyei, a disputed region between Sudan and South Sudan.
