Boko Haram gunmen on Sunday opened fire in the hostel of the School of Agriculture, Gujba, Yobe State, killing at least 40 students while asleep.
It was the latest blood-chilling violence in Nigeria’s north east state of Yobe. Gujba is about 30kms from Yobe’s capital of Damaturu.

At least 42 people were killed and 63 wounded in violent attacks in Iraq Sunday, government sources said.
Up to 30 people were killed and about 40 wounded in a suicide bombing attack at a mosque in Mussaiyb town, 50 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad Sunday, police said.

Syrian rebels including members of an al-Qaida-linked group captured Saturday a military post on the border with Jordan after four days of fighting, an activist group said.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 26 soldiers were killed in the battle as well as a number of rebels, including seven foreign fighters. The post served in the past as the customs office on the border with Jordan. It was turned into an army post years ago.

The three Tuareg groups in a joint statement on Thursday said they were suspending implementatin of the peace agreement signed with Mali’s government in the capital of neighboring Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, in June.
“Following multiple difficulties implementing the Ouagadougou agreement, mainly caused by non-observance by the Malian government of its commitments, [we have] decided to suspend participation in the structures of implementation of the agreement,” the statement said.

Army has confirmed that it has ended its operation killing all the three terrorists who launched a deadly early-morning attack. Police have have ruled out the possibility of a fourth terrorist as was believed earlier.
At least nine people, including a lieutenant colonel of the Indian Army, were killed and four injured in twin terror attacks by a single “fidayeen” (suicide) squad in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu region on Thursday morning. An unknown outfit Shohada Brigade, suspected to be Lashkar-e-Taiba’s shadow or proxy name, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
