Sources in the northern Afghan province of Badakhshan (see map), which borders neighbouring Tajikistan, report that Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan conducted a large-scale operation in the area which resulted in liberation the Manjan district, writes UmmaNews.
Scores of police and militants from theb Karzai’s puppet gang “Arbak” were eliminated during the offensive. The puppet district ringleader, so-called “governor” of Manjan, fled in an unknown direction. Mujahideen managed to capture at least 30 puppets.

The government spokesman for Congo is accusing neighboring Rwanda and the M23 rebels of preparing more attacks in volatile eastern Congo.
Lambert Mende told reporters Monday that Congolese authorities have “confirmed with certainty” that the rebels are backed by Rwanda and are planning to launch a fresh offensive.

Rebel groups in Syria are accused of killing as many as 190 civilians and taking 200 hostages during an offensive in August, Human Rights Watch claims.
A Human Rights Watch (HRW) investigation claims there were executions and indiscriminate shootings in the Latakia countryside, and that hostages are still being held by the Islamic state of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) and Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar.
