Sudan: Sudanese army retake Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) rebel area in South Kordofan
The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) on Wednesday retook Kaling area in South Kordofan state from the rebel Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF), a military spokesperson in Khartoum said.
“The armed forces today morning managed to drive the remnants of the so-called the Revolutionary Front from Kaling area in South Kordofan state,” Al-Sawarmy Khalid Saad, said.
He further said that SRF rebels use the area, which located the Rashad district on the border with North Kordofan, as basis to launch attacks on the neighbouring areas, adding it comes in line with SAF efforts to secure the region.
He pointed that the regular troops confiscated arms and ammunition of the rebels who fled the area leaving behind a number of deaths.
