Nigeria: Boko Haram terrorists attack Sandiya village killing 12 people
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists killed at least 12 people and burned down several homes in northeast Nigeria, officials said.
The Saturday attacks in the village of Sandiya, Borno, reportedly targeted those who do not openly support the militant Islamic group, the Nigerian Tribune said.
“The story is true; hoodlums invaded the community and killed 12 people, burnt houses, stole vehicles and motorcycles,” said state Police Commissioner Tanko Lawal.
Witnesses said about 30 gunmen stormed the village, chanting “God is Great,” before randomly shooting residents and setting fire to their homes.
