Iraq: Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) claims deadly attacks on Tikrit tv stations
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has claimed the deadly attacks on a TV complex in Tikrit, north of Baghdad, in which a news anchor and four other people died.
ISIS claimed responsibility for Monday’s assaults on Al-Iraqiya state TV and Salaheddin TV in a statement posted to jihadist websites.
“The attack was carried out under the orders of ISIS’s war ministry,” read the statement.
“It was executed by two cavaliers from the Islamic State against the channels’ venomous distortion of the facts and war against Sunnis,” the statement continued.
