Ukraine: Crimea ready for referendum to decide whether will secede from Ukraine and will join to Russia
People in Crimea prepare to cast their ballots on whether the region should secede from Ukraine and join Russia.
Authorities in the Crimean city of Sevastopol have finished preparations for the Sunday referendum on the status of the Republic of Crimea. The city has more than 160 polling stations.
“We have fully prepared (for the referendum). We have the list of voters ready, and their information has also been confirmed,” said Yevgeni Nikolayev, a member of the referendum commission.
“I think referendum is a good idea, because what is happening in Ukraine right now has gone beyond our expectations,” said a voter.
