Afghanistan: Explosions and gun battles hit Jalalabad city
A group of suicide bombers attacked a police headquarter in the first district of Jalalabad city in eastern Nangarhar province.
The incident took place early Thursday morning and several explosions were heard near the police station, while the insurgents exchanged fire with the Afghan security forces for several hours.
Nangarhar police chief has said that at least 7 militants have been killed during the clashes with the Afghan security forces.
This comes as deputy Afghan interior minister Ayoub Salangi said the number of insurgents were reported six and five of them have been shot dead by Afghan security forces.
