A bloody two days in Syria has left at least 88 rebels and Syrian Army personnel dead in a battle for control of the country’s southern Daraa province, AFP reports.
British based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said clashes between rebels and the Syrian regime that began on Thursday led to the high death toll.

An Indian official says two army soldiers and two suspected rebels have been killed in a fierce gunbattle in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
Paramilitary officer Nalin Prabhat says the fighting began late Friday after Indian troops and police surrounded Karewa Malino village in southern Kashmir and launched a search for suspected militants there.

The Defence Headquarters on Friday announced an escalation of gun battle with the Boko Haram sect in Borno State after the capture of those it described as leaders of the terrorist organisation.
A statement signed by the Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, said the gun battle, which occurred on Thursday night, led to the killing of over 40 terrorists and four soldiers.

The South Sudan’s rebels, The SPLM-in-Opposition have this afternoon claimed to have captured the strategic Northern Upper Nile town of Renk from the government forces.
Rebel sources in Nasir disclosed to the Upper Nile Times that their colleagues overran the town in the afternoon chasing out a contingent of government forces and JEM rebels in the area.

An intense violent confrontation erupted late last night near Awdinle of the Bay region between co-allied African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Somali National Army against Al-Shabaab terrorist insurgents.
As AMISOM and the Somali National Army were passing by Awdinle in a several vehicle convoy, fighters from the radical terrorist insurgency attacked the pro-government soldiers leading to aggravated clashes.
