DOZENS of people have been killed in two blasts that rocked a crowded bus station on the outskirts of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, officials say.
The blast happened as commuters were about to board buses and taxis to go to work in central Abuja, the BBC’s Haruna Tangaza reports.

The Moroccan police have recently dismantled a terrorist cell that allegedly worked to recruit Moroccan combatants for Syria in coordination with other terrorist organizations affiliated with Al Qaeda, says the Moroccan police department.
“The cell members used to collect donations given by sympathizers of their jihadist orientations to finance the travel of volunteer combatants to Syria, after enrolling them and teaching various precautions that need to be taken, during a meeting held at house dedicated to this end,” the police release says.

Ukraine’s armed forces plan to launch a “full-scale anti-terrorist operation” against pro-Russian separatists, acting president Oleksander Turchinov said on Sunday, raising the risk of a military confrontation with Moscow.
Angered by the death of a state security officer and the wounding of two of his comrades near the flashpoint eastern city of Slaviansk, Turchinov gave rebels occupying state buildings until Monday morning to lay down their weapons.

Seven members of a polling team and five CRPF personnel were among 14 killed as Maoists struck twice in less than an hour in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, just two days after peaceful elections were held in the region.
In the first incident on Saturday, armed rebels numbering close to 100 triggered a landmine blast to target a passenger bus in Bijapur district and then showered bullets on it, killing seven poll officials on board and injuring five. The poll officials were returning to the district headquarters.

Syrian government media and rebel forces said Saturday that poison gas had been used in a central village, blaming each other for an attack that reportedly injured scores of people.
Details of the attack Friday in Kfar Zeita, a village in Hama province some 200 kilometres north of Damascus, remained sketchy Saturday night.
