At least 16 militants were killed on Saturday as the security forces backed by gunship helicopters thwarted a cross border militant attack on a checkpost near the Pak-Afghan border in the Bajaur tribal region.
Military officials said that a large number of militants from across the border attacked a Pakistani post situated on Nao Top early in the morning.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) said the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) bombarded during the last three days Kauda, a rebel stronghold in the Nuba Moutains area, South Kordofan state.
“More than 53 bombs were dropped on residential areas, schools, hospitals, and farms,” SPLM-N spokesperson, said Arnu Ngutulu Loddi in a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Friday.

Boko Haram gunmen killed 35 people in attacks on three villages in Nigeria’s restive northeast Borno state near the border with Cameroon, a military source and residents said Thursday.
Dozens of Boko Haram gunmen dressed in military uniform stormed Gumushi, Amuda and Arbokko in all-terrain trucks and motorcycles, opening fire on residents and torching homes with petrol bombs, they said.

Spokesperson for Mehsud Taliban group, Azam Tariq, has announced that his group is severing ties with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) this Wednesday May 28, 2014. Azam claimed that individual ideologies had created a rift among various Taliban groups and there was a deviation from the real cause.
Azam Tariq accused the existing Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leadership was involved in attacking public places with bombs using bogus names. He claimed that money was being extorted from madrassahs and other institutions which was not acceptable.

Ukraine’s interior ministry says the military is now in full control of the airport in the eastern city of Donetsk after a day of bloody clashes.
At least 30 pro-Russia separatists have been killed, the insurgents say. Kiev said the army suffered no casualties.
