Nigeria: Residents of 3 villages kill 200 Boko Haram fighters in Borno State
Residents of three villages in Borno State have repelled an attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters, an eyewitness told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Report said at least 200 militants were killed during the clash which occurred in the Kala-Balge district of the state.
The witness said the residents had formed a vigilante group to repel the attack.
On Tuesday morning, after it learned of an impending attack by militants, a vigilante group in Kalabalge ambushed two trucks in which gunmen travelled, killing and arresting scores of them, the news agency quoted a security official to have said.
