An Israeli airstrike killed two Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Friday, officials said, as the search for three teens Israel says were abducted by the militant group Hamas in the West Bank entered its third week.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra said the militants’ car was hit in an airstrike. The men were members of the Popular Resistance Committee, a militant group aligned with Gaza’s Hamas rulers that often fires rockets at Israel, he said.

Iraq’s security forces launched on Thursday an aerial operation on the militant-held city of Tikrit and seized control of its strategically located university, officials told AFP.
Dozens of Iraqi security forces clashed with militants belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after being flown into the area by helicopters.

Al-Qaeda fighters have attacked an airport in Yemen and bombed the facility’s air control tower, according to Yemeni security officials.
The officials say the coordinated attack on the Sayoun airport in the southern province of Hadramawt started from three directions early on Thursday.

According to local authorities in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, clashes in southern Helmand provinces have spread to three other districts.
Provincial governor spokesman, Omar Zwak said the clashes have spread to Mosa Qala, Kajaki and Nawzad districts.

Extremists have abducted 91 more people, including toddlers as young as 3, in weekend attacks on villages in Nigeria, witnesses said Tuesday, providing fresh evidence of the military’s failure to curb an Islamic uprising and the government’s inability to provide security.
The kidnappings come less than three months after more than 200 schoolgirls were taken in a mass abduction that embarrassed Nigeria’s government and military because of their slow response. Those girls are still being held captive.
