Afghanistan: Taliban insurgents attack governor office and police headquarters in Kandahar killing 26 people
At least 26 people including 18 militants were killed in capital city of Kandahar province on Wednesday when the Taliban insurgents attacked the governor’s office and police headquarters.
Spokesman for the provincial governor office, Dawa Khan Menapal, said that the clashes erupted around 11:00 A.M and raged on for around two hours.
The dead included six policemen and two civilians. Afghan security forces killed all 18 insurgents involved in the attack, said Menapal.
He added that 10 civilians and 14 policemen were injured in the attack.
