The Egyptian army announced early Friday that it has bombed a weapon storage facility belonging to the Ansar Bait al-Maqdis militant group in Sinai, security sources and Al Arabiya News Channel reported.
The weapons were intended to be used against police and army officials, Egyptian ONA news agency reported, adding that an Apache helicopter was used to destroy the facility.

Iraqi officials say at least 40 people have been killed in an attack on a Sunni mosque in northeastern Iraq.
A police officer said that gunmen broke into the mosque and opened fire in Imam Wais village, near Baquba in Diyala Province, some 120 kilometers northeast of Baghdad.

Tens of thousands of Shiite rebel supporters are in the capital Sanaa in a bid to topple the government. Thousands of armed rebels strengthened their position on Wednesday as they pressed on with their campaign.
Led by heavily armed Shiite rebels, thousands of demonstrators are demanding the government step down by the end of the week. Rebel commander Abdulmalik al-Huthi said the authorities must meet protesters’ grievances by the end of the week, or additional forms of “legitimate action” would take place.

Heavy clashes have been reported between the Afghan national security forces and the anti-government armed militants in eastern Nuristan province of Afghanistan.
According to local government officials, clashes started on Tuesday after scores of militants launched attacks on security check posts in Du-Aab district.

A heavy barrage of rockets was fired at Israel on Tuesday night, ar around 10:40pm. Loud explosions were heard in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, while Code Red sirens blared throughout southern and central Israel.
Hamas said it fired 40 rockets at Israel. Among them, two hit open areas in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, four more in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council, and five hit open areas in the Be’er Sheva area.
