Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says his forces have destroyed part of a Russian armoured convoy that crossed into eastern Ukraine, adding: “We won’t tolerate any invasion.”
Military officials in Kiev said they tracked the vehicles, including armoured personnel carriers, from the border and then attacked with artillery.

Clashes are continuing between the Kirkuk Resistance Units and ISIS gangs in the area between Jalawla and Khanaqin.
After fighting yesterday the ISIS gangs were forced to withdraw to Jalawla. War planes also bombed Jalawla.

There were indications on Thursday that members of the terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, might have abducted about 100 young men from Doron Baga, a community in Borno State.
There were fears also that the abducted young men were being forcefully conscripted by the insurgents.

African peacekeepers and Somali troops battled militants in a suburb of Mogadishu on Friday, launching a joint offensive that killed at least 14 people, police said.
The attack was part of an armed campaign by government forces and African Union peacekeepers in response to a recent surge in gun and bomb attacks in Mogadishu by militias, primarily the al Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab group.
