At least 30 Houthi rebels have been killed in a suicide bomb attack at a gathering in Ibb city of central Yemen, while fighting in Radaa district has killed at least 34 others.
Wednesday’s large explosion at the cultural centre also wounded the governor of Ibb province, Al Jazeera has learned.

Iraqi forces have recaptured the northern town of Dhuluiya with sources claiming almost 300 ISIS fighters were killed in the battle.
Government security forces fighting alongside Shia militias began their assault of the town on the Tigris River 45 miles north of Baghdad on Sunday with raids by Iraqi helicopter and fighter jets.

The small West African nation of Gambia, has had a military coup aborted.
The coup bid was foiled early Tuesday, while President Yahya Jammeh was in France, military and diplomatic sources said.

Cameroon’s government launched its first ever air strikes against Nigerian Islamic extremists to dislodge about 1,000 fighters who had seized a Cameroonian military base, a statement said Monday.
Fighters from Nigeria’s home-grown Boko Haram extremist group attacked five villages in Cameroon, near its northern border with Nigeria, over three days before they over-ran the military base in the same area Sunday, the government said.

Forces loyal to Libya’s officially recognised government has carried out air strikes on targets in Misrata today in the first such attacks on the city.
Officials and residents said that the airstrikes were targeted on allies of an armed group that seized the capital Tripoli in the summer.
