Israel: Israel Defence Forces aircraft strike Gaza following earlier rocket fire

The IDF struck a site belonging to Hamas in southern Gaza near Khan Yunis early Saturday morning, following an earlier rocket attack from Gaza into Israel on Friday afternoon, which exploded in open territory near the Eshkol Regional Council.

The reports are of at least two strikes by the Israel Air Force, which was reportedly assisted by the Israel Navy.

Iraq: Kurdish peshmerga forces break ISIS’s Mount Sinjar siege

Kurdish forces pressed their biggest offensive against the ISIS group so far on Friday, buoyed by US reports that militant supremo Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi’s top aide in Iraq has been killed.

Kurdish peshmerga forces were securing the surroundings of Mount Sinjar after breaking a months-old militant siege of the northwestern region while fighting was also reported near the city of Tall Afar further east.

Burma-Myanmar: Clashes between Government troops and Federal Union Army (FUA) escalate

S.H.A.N. has learned that there was heavy fighting between government forces and the Federal Union Army (FUA) earlier this month at Kutkai, Manton and Theinni Townships in Northern Shan State.

Government army brigades No.11 and No.55 fought with FUA forces at Kutkai and Manton on 10th December and at Theinni on 13th December according to Mai Aik Kyaw, head of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) information department.

Pakistan: Top Uzbek commander among 17 terrorists killed in Khyber air strikes

A top Uzbek militant commander and 17 other terrorists were killed in fresh air strikes in Khyber Agency while 10 militants were gunned down in a ground action at Malak Shaga Nullah on Thursday, military officials said.

According to a spokesman of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 17 terrorists including an Uzbel commander, Islamud Din were killed in the evening’s air strikes in Khyber Agency.

Nigeria: Boko Haram militants kill 32 people in Nigeria

Boko Haram militants killed 32 people and kidnapped scores of others in an attack on the village of Gumsuri in the restive northeast, two local officials and a witness said Thursday.

The officials, who requested anonymity, said locals were still counting those abducted in the attack Sunday in the remote area but that the figure could pass 100 and included women and children.
