Rebel group fighters clashed with pro-government forces for the second consecutive day on Sunday as they pressed an advance on a key oil region in eastern Libya, sources on both sides reported.
Separately, at least four Fajr Libya militiamen were killed and 10 wounded in an air strike by pro-government forces near the Ras Jedir border crossing with Tunisia, a military source said.

At least 26 rebel fighters were killed Sunday by the Syrian troops in the northern province of Aleppo, a monitoring group said.
The killed rebels were from an array of jihadi groups, mainly the Al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, Xinhua quoted the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights as saying.

Holdout rebels clashed this week with the Sudanese army in North and Central Darfur states, as the African mediation prepare to resume talks for a comprehensive cessation of hostilities in Addis Ababa.
The spokesperson of the Sudan Liberation Movement –Abdel Wahid al-Nur (SLM-AW), Mustafa Tamboor told Sudan Tribune they repelled a military convoy of the Sudan Armed Forces that attempted to enter into Jaldo a rebel-held area in central Darfur state last Thursday.

Afghan police said Taliban militants have shot dead at least 12 workers clearing mines in the southern Helmand Province on December 13.
Farid Ahmad Obaid, a spokesman for the provincial police chief, said the attack happened near the former British military base of Camp Bastion.

A newly formed organization, the Shura Mujahidin Council (SMC), urged today the Libyan Islamist militias to form a coalition to confront the offensive announced by the government of Prime Minister Abdallah al Thinni.
SMC, made up of unknown members, issued a statement accusing Al Thinni and the militia of the self-called Libyan National Army (LNA) of destroying the city of Benghazi, while urging all opposition forces to join in a single organization.
