Islamic State’s Sinai wing claimed responsibility for attacks that killed at least 27 on Thursday night, the group said on its official Twitter account.
A series of tweets from the Sinai Province’s Twitter account claimed responsibility for each of the four attacks that took place in North Sinai and Suez provinces, in some of the worst anti-state violence Egypt has seen in months.

Chad’s army has driven Boko Haram militants out of Malumfatori town in north-eastern Nigeria, a senior official from Niger has told the BBC.
The reported capture of the town, which lies near the borders of Chad and Niger, follows two days of fighting.

The secretary-general of the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Yasser Arman, said its forces had inflicted an historic defeat on the Sudanese army (SAF) in South Kordofan state.
In an interview with the London-based Alquds Alarabi newspaper on Wednesday, he said the pro-government militias known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have mutinied against the Sudanese army in Talodi garrison in South Kordofan.

Scores of residents of Michika and Madagali villages have reportedly been killed by Boko Haram insurgents who launched series of attacks on about seven villages, local and security sources confirmed.
The towns fell into the hands of the insurgents last years but were recaptured by government troops.
