The Defence headquarters (DHQ) has said operations to clear terrorists from Monguno and other communities in Borno State were successful.
Boko Haram launched a pre-dawn raid on Monguno, 137 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
A statement by Defence spokesman Major General Chris Olukolade said: “Troops in a military operation spearheaded by highly coordinated air assaults have completed the mission of clearing terrorists from Monguno and environs this morning (Monday)“.
