Burma-Myanmar: Battles rage between allied ethnic forces and burmese army in Lau Kai

Allied ethnic forces from Kokang MNDAA’s 2nd Battalion, Ta-ang TNLA’s 919th Battalion and Arakan Army troops today fought against Burmese Army troops at Chin Ma Lin, Lau Kai in northern Shan State at around 2:30 am. The battle lasted for about 6 hours.

Another allied troops from MNDAA’s 17th Battalion, TNLA’s 447th Battalion and Arakan Army battled Burmese Army near Naung Kaw village in Lau Kai at around 8:30 am.

Egypt: 17 terrorists killed by egyptian armed forces in Sinai

Ukraine: Azov Battalion spearheads Ukrainian counter-offensive

Ukraine’s Azov B​attalion, famed for its near-suicidal bravery and ​ultra-nationalist ​views, is spearheading a Ukrainian counter-offensive along the country’s Black Sea coast ​today.

Posting a picture of their troops on Feb. 10 outside Pavlopil town hall, some 35 kilometers​ northeast of their base in the strategic port city of Mariupol, the battalion said that it had also seized the villages of Oktyabyr and Shyrokyne on their way to assault the Russian and separatist-held city of Novoazovsk.

Libya: Libyan army says has retaken main military base in Benghazi from islamist fighters

Libyan special forces said on Monday they had retaken the main military base in Benghazi from Islamist fighters that they have been battling since October, part of a wider struggle four years after the ousting of autocrat Muammar Gaddafi.

Special forces commander Wanis Bukhamada told Reuters by telephone that his troops had seized the army camp, on a road to the airport outside Libya’s second biggest city, as well as nearby offices belonging to state cellphone operator al-Madar.

Syria: ISIS pulls some forces and hardware from Aleppo

ISIS has withdrawn some of its insurgents and equipment from areas northeast of the Syrian city of Aleppo, rebels and residents say, adding to signs of strain in the Syrian provinces of its self-declared caliphate.

The group, which has recently lost ground to Kurdish and Syrian government forces elsewhere in Syria, has pulled fighters and hardware from several villages in areas northeast of Aleppo, they said. But it has not fully withdrawn from area.
