Somalia: Al-Shabaab gunmen attack Bossaso Police station

Suspected al-Shabaab gunmen attacked a police station in the Gulf of Aden Port City of Bossaso on Tuesday evening, Garowe Online reports.

Militants armed with rocket propelled grenades and AK 47 rifles carried out the pre-planned attack, destroying troop-transport vehicle and seriously wounding a soldier.

Ukraine: Militants still launching artillery attacks on village of Pisky

Russian-backed militants are continuing to shell the village of Pisky near Donetsk airport with mortars, the press office of the government’s Anti-Terrorist Operation headquarters wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

Overnight the militants attacked the settlements of Nevelske and Vodiane with Grad multiple rocket launcher systems, and shelled the villages of Krasnogorovka and Pisky using mortars, the press office said.

Chad: Chadian troops take over Nigeria’s Gamboru town from Boko Haram rebels

Chadian troops took control of the Nigerian border town of Gamboru on Tuesday after launching a ground offensive against the jihadist Boko Haram group, an AFP journalist reported.

The Chadian army crossed into Gamboru, which Boko Haram militants had seized several months ago, from the Cameroonian town of Fotokol after days of intense fighting.

The Iraqi government and a powerful group of Shia fighters have declared victory over the the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group in the key Iraqi province of Diyala.

The offensive has been led by the Badr Brigade, a Shia group in the Iraqi army.

The group held a victory rally on Monday and says it is ready to move north into ISIL strongholds.

Yemen: At least 10 people killed in attacks led by Ansar al-Sharia

At least 10 people have been killed in Yemen over the past four days in attacks led by an al-Qaeda’s affiliate against Shi’ite Houthi fighters and the Yemeni army, local officials and the group said.

Yemen has been in limbo since its president and prime minister resigned less than two weeks ago after the Houthis seized the presidential palace and confined the head of state to his residence in a struggle to tighten control over Yemen.
