Grenade-toting Taliban militants stormed a Shiite mosque in northwest Pakistan on Friday, police said, in an attack that left at least 18 people dead.
The incident comes two weeks after a suicide bombing at a Shiite mosque in southern Pakistan killed 61 people, the deadliest sectarian incident to hit the country in nearly two years.

A group of gunmen took control of two radio stations in Libya’s western city of Sirte, and aired statements of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, local residents said on Friday.
The armed group, claiming to be IS members, expelled all staff at Free Voice and Radio Mikdashi, and broadcast verses of Koran and IS propaganda, including speeches of IS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the group’s spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, Xinhua news agency reported citing a resident who declined to disclose his name.

Burmese state media announced on Friday that Burma Army operations against ethnic Kokang rebels in northern Shan State have cost the lives of 47 soldiers so far, while 73 were wounded during the recent heavy fighting.
The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper said at least three armed engagements on Feb. 9-12 between government forces and the rebels, also known as the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), in the Kokang Special Region’s Laukkai Township led to the casualties.

A security source in al-Anbar province announced Thursday, that the ISIS ground launched a major offensive on the district of Baghdadi western Anbar, indicating that violent clashes broke out between security forces and elements of the organization.

Somaliland armed forces earlier today managed repulse the ambush by gunmen aligned to renegade Sultan Wabar near the village of Qolujeed which is situated in the border between Somaliland and Ethiopia in Awdal region.
Unnamed Somaliland army officer said, “The Gunmen aligned to renegade Sultan Wabar attacked the SL army unit at 10:00 am this morning in the village of Qolujeed one soldier was injured in the battle in the ensuing battle which lasted one and half hours and one of the attackers was arrested the attackers were repulsed fleeing towards the Ethiopian border.
