The leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France have signed off on a road map for a Ukrainian peace deal after 16 hours of talks in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin said the agreement called for a cease-fire to begin on February 15 at midnight, for heavy weapons to be withdrawn, and a security zone to be established.

Syrian army has recaptured Der Maker town plus two hills in Damascus countryside amid continuity of operations against terrorist organizations outside Daraa and Idlib, according to military sources.
A military source was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as citing that army units restored stability and peace to Der Maker town and regained control of al-Serjeh and al-Aros hills in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

19 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 78 injured in the past 24 hours in the fighting near Debaltseve, Ukraine’s military spokesman Vladyslav Seleznyov said on Wednesday.
Vladyslav Seleznyov, military spokesman: “As a result of shelling, rocket attacks and military clashes, Ukraine lost 19 servicemen including 17 servicemen of the Ukraine armed forces and two interior ministry staff. 78 servicemen of various security bodies are in hospitals with wounds of various severity.”

Heavy fighting between government and rebel forces broke out in the capital of South Sudan’s oil-rich Unity State, on Tuesday with both sides using heavy artilleries, the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) has learned.
Fighting has been raging since early Tuesday with both sides accusing each other of attack.

At least 16 people have been killed and 14 others wounded in clashes between Somali government troops and Sufi fighters, witnesses and local elders said.
The clashes on Tuesday appeared to be part of a local power struggle sparked by politicians meeting in Dhuasamareb, in the north-central Galgadud region, aimed at forging a regional government.
