An attack targeting leaders of the jihadist Al-Nusra Front in Syria has killed several leaders of the al-Qaeda affiliate in the northwestern province of Idlib.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “a number of al-Nusra Front leaders were killed” in the attack as they gathered for a meeting, but was unable to say if its chief, Abu Mohamed al-Jolani, was among them.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen shot dead and slit the throats of 68 people — including children — in an attack on a village in Nigeria’s Borno state, according to survivors and vigilante sources.
The attackers then burned down the entire village of Njaba, the sources said.

Dozens were killed Wednesday when Syrian rebels set off a powerful tunnel explosion targeting an intelligence headquarters in Aleppo and clashed with regime forces, a monitor said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the blast hit a building housing the air force intelligence offices in the west of Syria’s second city and was followed by heavy clashes, reports AFP.

Seven Rwandan rebels have been killed and at least 20 captured in the Democratic Republic of Congo in a government offensive that has widened to include swathes of the country’s southeast, authorities said Sunday.
“Since the start of the operation four FDLR (Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda) have been killed in North Kivu and three in South Kivu,” said government spokesman Lambert Mende.

At least 60 militants were killed or wounded in the search operations launched for the recovery of kidnapped passengers on Tuesday in southern Zabul province, an official said.
Police Chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai told Pajhwok Afghan News the offensive began at around 3: 00 am in the Khakh-i-Afghan district. Special Forces were landed in the area through helicopters and now engaged in fierce fire fight with insurgents.
