China sent fighter jets to patrol its border with Burma after a bomb dropped by a Burmese warplane killed four Chinese in southwestern Yunnan province, state media reported Saturday.
The bomb hit a sugarcane field in Lincang city on Friday, killing four workers and injuring nine others, China’s official news agency Xinhua said.

At least one suspected Maoist was killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jharkhand’s Gumla district on Friday. The police, however, claimed they have killed four-five rebels.
“I was leading the team comprising district police, CoBRA and Jharkhand Jaguar. The encounter, which took place near Sargaon village, began at 7.30 am and lasted two hours. One body has been recovered. I think four-five Naxals must have died, but they ran away with the bodies,” said Gumla SDPO Mohd Arshi.

The Sudanese troops repulsed an attack by the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement - North (SPLM-N) fighters on Kuldegi town in South Kordofan, a military spokesperson said Thursday.
Following the failure of peace negotiations in December 2014, the warring parties in South Kordofan resumed the fighting as every side accuse the other of carrying ground or air attacks.

The Islamic State group’s affiliate in Libya has claimed responsibility for an explosion at a police station in the country’s capital, Tripoli.
The blast early on Thursday caused panic among residents but no one was hurt.
