President Omar Al Bashir has threatened to invade South Sudan to disarm the Sudanese rebel movements allegedly based there.
The Sudanese president visited the area of Goz Dango in Tullus locality, South Darfur, where fighting broke out on Sunday between troops of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and rebels of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), supported by combatants of the Sudanese Liberation Movement led by Minni Minawi (SLM-MM).

More than 70 militants have been killed in a large-scale military operation in Ghazni province, said the provincial governor.
Musa Khan Akbarzada told reporters on Wednesday that Afghan security forces in a clearance operation under the title of Khanjar killed more than 70 militants in Nawa district of the province. He said that foreign militants were also among those killed in the operation. However, he did not give further details in this regard.

Nigeria’s military on Tuesday claimed the rescue of 200 girls and 93 women from a notorious Boko Haram stronghold, but said there was no confirmation the hostages were those kidnapped from Chibok a year ago.
“Troops have this afternoon captured & destroyed three camps of terrorists inside the Sambisa forest & rescued 200 girls & 93 women,” defence spokesman Chris Olukolade said in a text message, referring to the area in northeast Borno state where the Islamists have bases.

The Karen National Liberation Army 2nd Brigade based in the Taungoo District confirmed to Karen News that a small firefight between its solders and the government troops happened on April 20.
Lieutenant Saw Prah, company commander of the KNLA 2nd Brigade’s security force told Karen News that the fighting was between his soldiers and the Burma Army’s Infantry Battalion 589 from the Kyaukgyi-based Tactical Command 3 under its Southern Military Command at an area near Tha Byay Nyunt village in Baw Gali sub-township in Thaundaung Township.

Russian-backed militants have stepped up attacks on Ukrainian positions throughout the combat zone in eastern Ukraine, according to military officials, who said the heaviest shelling was reported early on April 27 near Mariupol.
Serhiy Danylenko, military spokesman: “From from 18:00 Kyiv time on Sunday to midnight on Monday, pro-Russian militants shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops 23 times, the In Donetsk region, militants fired from 120mm-caliber mortars on the ATO forces near the village of Pisky three times and near the town of Avdiyivka twice. The enemy also used 122mm-caliber artillery systems to attack the positions near Avdiyivka twice.”
