Four Tunisian soldiers were killed Tuesday and six others wounded in an ambush in the Kasserine region, an area of activity of jihadists in west-central Tunisia, announced the national television, citing the Ministry of Defense.
“Four soldiers were martyred and six others wounded in an ambush against a military patrol in Sbeïtla, according to the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense”, announced the state channels Wataniya 1 and 2 on a banner that displayed on the screen.
A military source told AFP that the attack took place near the town of Sbeïtla and Mount Mghilla. Several Tunisian media reported, without citing sources, that the soldiers had been targeted by a firing RPGs.
