Afghanistan: 70 militants killed by security forces in Khanjar operation in Ghazni province
More than 70 militants have been killed in a large-scale military operation in Ghazni province, said the provincial governor.
Musa Khan Akbarzada told reporters on Wednesday that Afghan security forces in a clearance operation under the title of Khanjar killed more than 70 militants in Nawa district of the province. He said that foreign militants were also among those killed in the operation. However, he did not give further details in this regard.
Afghan security forces around four days ago for the first time entered Nawa district of the province and regained control of the remote district from the Taliban.
“Security forces have also destroyed a military center of Taliban in Bazar-e-Jahangir area of the district,” Akbarzada went on as saying.
