The Israeli military conducted airstrikes Sunday night in the area between Israel and Syria, targeting a group of militants allegedly trying to plant a bomb on the Israeli border.
The Israel Defense Forces said the airstrikes were carried out in the occupied Golan Heights against four militants who crossed into the area from Syria.

Conflicting reports surfaced Sunday about fierce fighting in South Darfur between government forces, and the rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and Sudan Liberation Movement-Minni Minnawi (SLM-MM)
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) said it inflicted heavy losses on the rebels penetrated inside the region from the border areas and renewed accusations that Juba government supports the armed groups.

Suspected Boko Haram fighters in motorized canoes attacked a Niger army base on an island in Lake Chad, the body of water touching all four countries that have been targeted by Nigeria’s Islamic insurgency, Niger’s defence ministry said Saturday.
The army may have suffered “heavy losses” in the attack on Karamga Island, said a Niger military source in the region who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the press.

Security officials and eyewitnesses say Yemen’s southern port city of Aden has been hit by dozens of Saudi-led coalition airstrikes.
The attacks on Saturday come as Shiite Houthi rebels mobilized hundreds of reinforcements in an effort to wrest control of the city from militias supporting embattled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

According to activists, the Islamist rebels in Syria have taken over much of the key north-western town of Jisr al-Shughur.
Jisr al-Shughur is the only major town under government control in Idlib province and correspondents say it could give them a route into the heartland of the ruling elite’s power.
