Afghanistan: Taliban militants announced start of spring offensive on April 24

Taliban militants announced the start of their spring offensive which is named “Azm” or “Resolution”.

A statement sent to media by the group states they will target military and foreign targets as well as government officials during Azm which is going to be started on April 24.

Saudi Arabia: International coalition declares successful end of Decisive Storm operation in Yemen

The Saudi-led international coalition declared Tuesday the end of its military campaign four weeks after launching airstrikes on the Houthi positions in Yemen, saying the militia’s threat to the Kingdom and its neighbors had been neutralized.

The coalition has “ended Operation Decisive Storm based on a request by the Yemeni government and President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi,” said its spokesman, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Assiri.

Syria: Syrian army makes major advances in Qalamoun region

Syrian Army troops continue to gain ground in their fight against foreign-backed armed groups, and have managed to restore security to a number of areas along the border with Lebanon, Press TV reports.

On Tuesday, Syrian government forces continued to engage Takfiri militants in the strategic and mountainous Qalamoun region near the capital, Damascus, and thwarted attempts by groups of armed men to infiltrate the country from neighboring Lebanon.

Somalia: U.N. aid workers among six killed in al-Shabaab attack in Puntland

An improvised bomb exploded near a U.N. vehicle traveling near the northeastern Somali city of Garowe on Monday morning, killing six people — including four aid workers for the international children’s agency UNICEF.

Somalia’s President called it “an attack against the future of our country.”

Russia: Imarat Kavkaz terrorist group leader killed in anti-terrorism special operation in Dagestan

The leader of the Imarat Kavkaz terrorist organization and two other militant warlords have been killed in a special operation in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said Monday.

Following an anti-terrorism operation that began Sunday in Dagestan’s Buinaksk, at least three bodies were recovered Monday.
