Rival Central African Republic (CAR) groups have signed a ceasefire deal in an effort to provide the country with a political solution, according to a statement by Kenya’s State House where the agreement was signed.
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted the signing of the accord on Wednesday between Anti-Balaka leader Joachim Kokate and former president and ex-Seleka leader Michel Djotodia, which included a deal “to stop hostilities” and another to “open a new chapter of political stability in their country” by adhering to the transitional roadmap, the statement said.

Two Burma Army troops were killed and two seriously injured during fighting with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Kyawkme township, northern Shan State on April 7.
The clash broke out between Pangsang village and Hu Kok village on Tuesday when Light Infantry Division 77 entered a TNLA-controlled area, a local source reported.

Military sources in Abyan’s Lawdar district claimed on Wednesday that the 111th Infantry Brigade had cut off supplies to Houthi fighters and their allies in the governorate and had them surrounded since Tuesday. Shaker Al-Ghadir, an officer in the pro-Hadi 111th Infantry Brigade, said violent clashes with Houthi militants and their supporters in the 15th Armored brigade had killed at least 35 from either side since Tuesday.
Six-hundred men from the 111th Brigade based in Ahwar district linked up with 400 popular committee members on Tuesday and have since cut off all roads and supply lines, including the Abyan-Aden and Abyan-Shabwah roads, according to Al-Ghadir.

Four Tunisian soldiers were killed Tuesday and six others wounded in an ambush in the Kasserine region, an area of activity of jihadists in west-central Tunisia, announced the national television, citing the Ministry of Defense.
“Four soldiers were martyred and six others wounded in an ambush against a military patrol in Sbeïtla, according to the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense”, announced the state channels Wataniya 1 and 2 on a banner that displayed on the screen.
