Burma-Myanmar: 2 fighter jets bomb KIA rebel positions near Nam Lim Pa
Myanmar Air Force’s two fighter jets on Thursday launched bombing raids on KIA’s 12th Battalion positions in southern Kachin State. KIA source said the two jets attacked KIA troops for about 10 minutes dropping bombs and firing rockets.
The latest round of fighting began when a combined force of Burmese army’s 15th and 142nd Light Infantry Battalions encroached into KIA’s 12th Battalion position near Nam Lim Pa on May 6 at around 1 pm.
KIA’s 12th Battalion troops led by deputy commander Aik Htun engaged in a firefight with Burmese army troops at the bank of Nam Hpre Hka between Nam Lim Pa and Magyeng on the next day at 5:30 am. Another battle took place at around 12:15 pm.
