At least 16 insurgents belonging to Taliban and Islamic State (IS) have been killed in air strikes in western Farah province, an official said on Saturday.
Mohammad Hanif Rezaee, a spokesman for the 207th Zafar Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghan National Army (ANA) jets targeted Sargzan, Gulshtar, Dahna Jamal, Ghazi and Dahna Kashanak areas of Anardara district late Friday.

Terrorists disguised as security forces personnel killed 20 people after kidnapping 35 passengers from 2 coaches on Friday. The incident occurred near Khad Koch area of Mastung. The armed terrorists stopped 2 coaches bound for Karachi from Pasheen. The armed militants took the passengers into nearby hills. According to the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mastung and security sources, the 15-20 armed militants dressed in security forces’ uniforms came in double cabin vehicles.

A Libyan militia spokesman and a militant group say the local ISIS affiliate has taken control of a civilian air base in the central city of Sirte -the group’s stronghold in the North African country.
Mohammed al-Shamia, spokesman for the 166 Battalion militia, says his group withdrew from the al-Qardabiya air base Thursday.

The Syrian army has pulled back from the northwestern city of Ariha after a coalition of insurgent groups seized the last city in Idlib province in northwestern Syria near the Turkish border that was still held by the government.
A coalition of rebel groups called Jaish al Fateh, or Conquest Army, said it had taken over the city. Syria’s al Qaeda offshoot Nusra Front is a major part of the coalition.

At least 30 people were killed and more than 100 people were injured this morning due to explosions in the center of the capital, Sana’a, according to a source from the Ministry of Health.
The huge explosions rocked the capital Sana’a as the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched new strikes on Houthi military targets. The air raids targeted the Special Security camp, formerly known as the Central Security located in the center of the city.
